WELCOME TO THE FUTURE!

Here we are… Beginning, yet, another year... Happy New Year, my friends! I whole-heartedly hope that 2012 does not find you in the same old rut that many people seem to fall into at this time of year: setting unrealistic vows to better themselves. Yes, I’m referring to those resolutions people seem to make every year… Have you ever looked up the definition of “goal”? According to Merriam-Webster.com, goal is defined as, “the terminal point of a race”. I think we can all agree that resolutions feel rather ‘terminal’ when attempting to carry them out…

I do love to shop....

This past weekend I noticed that stores are now into the full swing of “back to school” shopping.  Now I’m starting to hear “back to school shopping” in conversations everywhere.  Mostly, these conversations come with disappointment that summer will be over soon.

Distracted? Overwhelmed? Burdened? Busy?

Distracted…Overwhelmed … Burdened… Busy

All the time my brain is full of the many to do lists I have. I’m always trying to check off as many as I can. Ministry is an amazing adventure, when Sunday morning comes around “The Big Day”  Everything we do is in preparation for that day. The first and third Sundays at the church are particularly busy as we have a brunch after the morning service and preparing for the ever growing children’s ministry.

I am very excited about the growth but there was a sense of business and worry that started to take over. The questions of the morning begin…

Was it communicated clearly?

Will the volunteers show up?
